About me
A psychologist and mental health practitioner from Serbia with diverse practical experience in the field of mental health, assertive training, group sessions, individual coaching, and counseling.
Currently I live in Serbia where I meet with clients face to face for individual consultations and where I have been conducting majority of the workshops and training sessions.
I also practice online consultations and collaboration with different local partners.
I believe that we all have free will and opportunity to choose, so issues of freedom, identity, responsibility, sense and self -actualization are of the great importance at the path of personal growth and development. This is the path that I have chosen.
Overview
- First practical experience in the field of mental health in the community I gained in the period 2004 – 2007, as a volunteer of the Center Srce – Center for emotional support and suicide prevention, member of the Befrienders Worldwide Network.
- As a certified trainer of assertive communication, I run assertiveness training (group sessions based on cognitive-behavioral methodology) from 2006.
- Individual coaching and/or counseling I practice from 2010.
- In the last years, I have become particularly interested in interdisciplinary approaches and innovative methodologies in education, therapy, and research.
- Since 2014 I run psychological-creative workshops (group sessions based on the group therapy and art therapy methodology).
- I also work in the field of non-profits and community development for more than ten years, mostly with marginalized and/or vulnerable groups of people, such as Roma, emotionally disturbed, youth, women, etc.

“My approach is integrative. I cannot imagine myself in the box and under the roof of only one school.”
I am attending available workshops that can fulfill my curiosity to explore new forms, such as Personal Documentary, Butoh Laboratory, 5Rhythms, Expressive arts therapy, Genogram in Art therapy, Social Therapeutics, Summer Academy of Applied Performing Art Practices, etc. I develop my own approach while integrating all the knowledge, practical experiences, and interests.
“A few months ago, I was stuck at the crossroads and I couldn’t move from this point. I started individual sessions with the idea that Milena will give me the answer to what to do and what direction is the best for me to choose. However, the answer from her never came – instead, she helped me discover it by myself! Milena loves her job, she works with enthusiasm and full dedication; she raises the mind and spirit on a higher level! I had also attended assertiveness training where I met people similar to me and got the additional motivation to keep working on my development. I became much more open and spontaneous in communication, but more equitable, too. Milena, keep helping people, you are professional in this. Thank you for everything!
